HR Services for Schools is a traded service, providing services to over 340 schools, academies, independent free schools and other educational organisations in Birmingham.
Our service is delivered through a combination of annual subscription packages and services that are offered on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. The service is Local Authority based, however we have traded with for over 20 years and recognise that the educational landscape has changed significantly in this time. We also appreciate that one size does not fit all, so our service is completely flexible and can be adapted to suit your specific needs; tailored around your particular policies, procedures and terms and conditions.
The annual subscription service offers subscribers the choice between either a Gold or Silver package of support across a range of areas, with named HR or Employee Relations officers.
The services on offer include:
HR operations and transactional work: provision of full support with all employee transactions, such as new starters, contractual change and managing absence. You will transact via our secure website- the HR Portal, which also provides many reporting benefits including the provision and submission of the School Workforce Census, saving you considerable time and effort.
Employee relations consultancy advice: provision of a full range of employee relations support in areas such as grievance, disciplinary, capability, attendance management etc. There’s also an annual training programme and the option of bespoke briefings at staff training days.
Subscribers to both packages also have access to the HR portal, which contains regular news and updates, and access to policies, guidance and management toolkits
In addition to annual subscription packages, it is possible to purchase a series of services on a pay as you go basis. These include:

Right to Work (RTW) advice and sponsorship.
