URGENT DO NOT IGNORE : ESFA Notice – Asbestos Management Assurance Process (AMAP) IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED BY ALL RESPONSIBLE BODIES
You may have received a notice from the ESFA requesting the completion of an Asbestos Management Assurance Process (AMAP) questionnaire. You are expected to complete the AMAP if you are a Responsible Body i.e. the main employer of staff at State-Funded Schools and Academies. All maintained nursery schools, maintained primary and secondary schools, maintained special schools and academy special schools, pupil referral units, all academies and free schools and non-maintained special schools are in scope for this collection of information.
Before completing the AMAP questionnaire please read the guidance by following the link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asbestos-management-assurance-process-amap-user-guide or by searching AMAP DfE in your browser. The guidance provides you with the information on how to complete the questionnaire and the link to the AMAP questionnaire portal.
To complete the questionnaire you will require the schools DfE URN and the AMP code AMAP_29040_21EBACAA.
Note that academies, VA schools and foundation schools have been contacted separately so will have their own AMAP codes. The Birmingham AMAP code will not allow them to login.
We require all maintained Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special schools and Pupil Referral Unit to complete the online questionnaire by Monday 11th June 2018, as time will be required for EDI to check all submitted questionnaires and return them to the DfE by Monday 25th June. The ESFA can view the portal at any time and will be able to identify any school that has not completed the questionnaire.
If you have any queries on the AMAP, please contact EDI on 0121 303 8847.
